Yael Stein Yael Stein, who is Australian living in New York City since 2013 was the character Lorna Morrello on Orange Is the New Black. Yael holds a master's diploma from NIDA. At a very young age, Yael has been lucky enough to work with the best storytellers in Australia, brilliant stars of the stage and visionaries behind the scenes in film TV, theatre, and film. Yael has a successful career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael moved to New York City after the Brooklyn Academy of Music's staging of the play had an enormous success. Yael co-founded The Cannery. From a Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery is a place to promote new creativity, creative writing and innovative projects and assists in the growth of writers in their teens.
